SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to our track meet coinciding with the start of Passover, we will hold additional heats of the mile and relays on Thursday April 21st 2016 at 7:30 pm (women’s heats first) for anyone observing the holiday the next day. Unfortunately, we will not be able to close off the track but results will be included in the official results and prizes awarded accordingly. We apologize that we cannot move the meet to a different date but permits for park space are highly competitive and this was the date we were given. We strive to be as accommodating and inclusive as possible to everyone in the community and hope this will help to achieve that goal. – McCarren Park Classic Race Directors

Also, by popular demand, we will have Matzah at the meet on Friday.

This is as an “all access pass.” Registration gives you access to all the running events (mile and relays).  Running one race, or all of them is up to you.

Sneaker Drive at McCarren Park Track Classic.
In conjunction with tonight’s race sponsor, Brooklyn Running Co., we will be collecting old sneakers to donate to national 501(c)3 organization, the Max Cure Foundation, which sells the sneaks at affordable prices to developing countries and uses the profits to provide financial support to low-income and military families who have children battling cancer. So you get rid of your smelly old sneaks that you know you shouldn’t be running in anyway cause you’re supposed to replace them every 300-500 miles, you make a dent in the 200 million pairs of sneakers that are thrown in the garbage and buried in landfills every year, help the hundreds of millions of people around the globe who don’t own footwear and must walk barefoot in the streets AND you help kids with cancer. You may not be victorious in your relay tonight but if you donate some sneakers this evening, that is what we call a win-win-win-win!
So, after you burn rubber on the track tonight, please consider donating your old sneaks to a good cause! Bring a used pair of kicks to drop in our donation box (they don’t have to be running shoes – any form of sneaker or tennis shoe including running, training, basketball, high tops, canvas sneakers or any athletic shoe will do) OR just come chat with me and Sophie about your ideas for group volunteering opportunities around the North Brooklyn community community we call home. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

Join your fellow competitors at Roebling Sporting Club after the track meet this Friday for some celebratory food and drinks. You’ll have earned it!!

  • RSC has reserved the back section for us but there is plenty of room to spill over to the rest of the bar if needed.
  • Do you need another reason to come by? Okay! Friday night at RSC also means Karaoke Night starting at 11PM.

Drink Special:

  • $6 Kicking Mules (their version of Moscow Mule)
  • $6 can of Tecate + well shot

Thanks to our sponsors:
